What We Believe

1. About God

God is love, and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, the Author of peace, order and every good and perfect gift. Our God is One, but is manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God. God’s love for us was revealed when He sent His one and only Son into the world.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 4:8

2. About Jesus Christ

Jesus is the Son of God and the Author of eternal salvation.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He is equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless, human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. After three days, He arose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1: 9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

3. About the Holy Spirit

God provided us with another helper, the Spirit of Truth, who will be with us forever.

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus, and He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with the power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

4. About Mankind

God loves you and has a special plan and purpose for your life.

People are the supreme object of God’s creation, and He created us in His own likeness and image. God tells us, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I set you apart.” God has a wonderful plan for your life, and His greatest desire is for you to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Jeremiah 1:5; Philippians 1:9-11; Isaiah 43:4a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2;

5. About the Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to all people and the supreme source of Truth.

The Bible is the Word of God, and God’s Word is Truth. The Bible was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the living Word of God, and it is not inert or powerless. Jesus likened the Word of God to a seed that it is alive (not dead), and that has the ability to bring fourth life abundantly. The Bible brings about lasting, supernatural change within a person and shows us how to live and love in our everyday life.

2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6; 119: 105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; Matthew 13:1-23; Romans 10:17

6. About Salvation

God gave us the gift of salvation so that we never have to be separated from Him.

Sin separates us from God, who is perfect holiness, righteousness and justice. God gave us the gift of salvation so that we never have to be disconnected from Him. We cannot resolve our sin with self-improvement or good works. A person is saved from sin’s penalty only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness through Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Eternal life begins the very moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her heart.

Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9,10; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

7. About Eternity

God has given us everlasting life, and this life is through His Son, Jesus Christ.

God created man with a spirit, soul and physical body. Our spirit and soul exist beyond our physical lifespan and are therefore eternal. We will either exist forever separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence, and God desires that all sinners be saved.

John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 23:7,25:31-46; 1 Timothy 2:4; 1 Thessalonians 5:23

8. About the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts

Jesus said I am with you always, even until the end of time.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an act subsequent to regeneration, and the purpose is to empower believers to be His spirit-filled witnesses on earth. After Baptism, we receive spiritual gifts that help us respond to the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit gives each of us spiritual gifts that operate in the supernatural realm as grace gifts.

1 Corinthians 12; Matthew 3:11, 28:19; Romans 6:4; Acts 1:8; Mark 16:16; Galations 5:22-23
